First Graders Trap Heat Energy Using Greenhouses

Last week at JF Burns, first graders learned about growing plants from seeds and how we can use greenhouses to “trap” heat energy and give our tiny seeds a good head start. We explored our soil pods using our senses and shared what we observed. Next, we planted marigolds for our moms, and vegetable seeds for our new vertical gardens. Finally, we made predictions about what our plants will look like when they’ve grown.

Thank you, Miss Contratto, for sharing pics of your little scientists in action! 👨🏽‍🔬🌾🌱
